Friday’s Resource Roundup

June 13th, 2008

resourcesToday’s an assortment of stuff to take you into the weekend.

First up, my friend RC has just posted a couple great bits on the LAYERS blog. On Wednesday he pointed us to Pixsylated’s blog and a fun post about mod’ing your copy of McNally’s Moment It Clicks. Link HERE. There’s also a good article on colour management called “Why Your Photos Look Lousy… or Simple Truths About Color Management”

Yesterday RC posted a really excellent article by Chris Orwig about Catalogs in Adobe Lightroom. This is a must read, get it HERE.

If you’ve ever been tempted by the allure of the red dot, there’s much noise coming from the Leica quarter these days concerning the M8 and a recent review by pho-jo Michael Kamber. Here’s a taste on the Online Photographer. As always everyone has an opinion but I’m still surprised by the numbers of photographers spending so much time in rebuttal, defending the honour of their chosen brand or model. Energy that might be better spent making photographs.

Steve Frischling has another post about the Think Tank Skins, this time a discussion about combining them with his North Face backpack to create that elusive chimera, the ideal carry on. Check it out over on Flying With Fish HERE.

Looking for some inspiration to take you through the weekend? Visit The Travel Photographer. Tewfic El-Sawy posts daily and often those posts point readers to some exceptional global photography.

Have a great weekend.
