Hotshoe Diaries Winners
March 19th, 2009The kind folks at Peachpit Press offered to mail copies of Joe’s new book directly to the winners so late yesterday I closed the comments and made the draw. On the receiving end of Joe McNally’s latest, The Hotshoe Diaries, are Tim Snow, Peter Carroll, and Lisa Cueman. Congrats! The rest of you will have to get your copy the old fashion way – go to Borders, Barnes and Nobles, or your favourite bookseller and stick one up your shirt. (Totally kidding. It’s well worth the sticker price. Seriously, that much wisdom and learnin’ for less than $40? No brainer.) Thanks to the good folks at Peachpit for playing along. In less than two months we’ll be doing one of these for my book.
Jay Maisel was the guest author over on Scott Kelby’s blog this week and I suggest y’all head over there to read it. Jay is a thoughtful photographer with a way with words. His expression, the intimacy of walking, is fantastic. If you loved last week’s focus on vision and inspiration, Jay’s post is worth the read, and his links worth the following.
I just got news of some new gear coming out of Photoflex and one piece in particular is going to really interest the Strobist and Hotshoe Diaries crowds. Can’t say much more but they’re sending me a care package and when it gets here I’ll show it to you. The last thing I need is more gear to haul around the globe, but portable strobe stuff is always useful. I’ll keep you posted.
Lastly, in the wake of Vision Week, I’m posting a longer quote from Steven Pressfield’s The War of Art. If you haven’t found a copy yet, it’s worth it. Keep reading to the next post.
