WITHIN THE FRAME Signed Edition

April 14th, 2009

signedwtf

I’ve had too many questions about this to ignore it any longer. Many of you have asked about signed copies. I still think that’s just plain goofy. But that could be the self-loathing talking :-) If you’re in Vancouver and take me for coffee, I’ll happily sign your copy in person. But for those of you further away, the whole thing becomes much trickier. Truth is I can’t buy copies for much less than what Amazon sells them for, so for me to get copies, sign them and mail them to you (I don’t offer free shipping either) doesn’t make much financial sense. So here’s what we’re offering. If you want a signed copy this at least gives y’all some bang for your buck.

For $50 you can have a signed copy of Within The Frame, inside of which will be three 6×9 prints of images that appear in the book. Which images? Well that’s a surprise. Might be the ones in the image above, might not. It’s a gamble , but unlike the slots, you know yer getting something. The reason we went with 6×9 is that’s the largest print I can easily get made that still fits within the book, so both the book and the prints can be sent together without custom packaging, etc.

If you’re in the US, that’s USD$50.00 plus $7S/H. If in Canada, it’s the same numbers but in CAD$, and if you’re somewhere else, well, drop me an email and we’ll talk. I wish I could offer something easier on the wallet, but this is about the only option I can think of that really makes sense.

The book gets released on May 11, which means it’s likely not until a week or two after that that booksellers, or even I, get shipments. But if you order now I can get the prints and get ready so I can ship as soon as I get them.

How do you get your copy? Best way is to email me and I’ll get your address and prefered payment method. Drop me an email with THIS LINK.

BTW, the above is purely a mock-up so images and book are not to scale, actual images may be different, etc.

David, the pdf of your book was really convincing – I knew I wanted that book from reading only the first pages, so I’ve already placed an order. I would have loved an autograph, but S/H to Germany probably is somewhere near the book price…

Perhaps I need to wait for you to come to India and then take you out for a coffee ;) I pre-ordered this weekend

I pre-ordered mine last night (threw in Hot Shoe Diaries just to get that free shipping too) – Autographs to me have always been second to meeting the person – so that’s just going to have to be another item on the list “to do”.

I cancelled my preorder with Amazon (both of them; don’t ask) to get a signed version and the additional surprise prints. Thanks for the very nice offer, David. I would have preferred to get a signing in person though, even if that’s just because I love a good cup of coffee.

@Markus: the added cost for shipping to The Netherlands was actually comparable with Amazon pricing, and didn’t add much to the original price.
