PixelatedImage Blog

I need help (or NAME THAT eBOOK!)

April 5th, 2010

I’m never sure what the “right” way to do this stuff is, but I’m hoping y’all can help me, so I’m just gonna spill the beans about the next eBook and put it out there.

I’m putting together a collection of the 50 most popular articles from the PixelatedImage blog as “best of” kind of eBook so the best content on the blog can be accessed and read offline. None of this 40-page stuff, this one’s going to be big. Right now it’s about 150 pages. Yes, you can get it all for free on the blog and I’m not going to be taking those posts down, but after all the endless “You should put this stuff in a book” requests I though it was time. 50 articles. Big images. All available offline. And still only $5 -  less than that crappy latte that makes you all gassy and bloated anyways.

But I have no title and “The Best of…” sounds way too lame. And I want it to appeal to people who are not already part of this community so it can’t be self-referential. Afterall, the point is not that these are the most popular articles on the blog, the point is that somewhere in all my logorrhea there are things to be learned about the craft of photography. So I’m crowdsourcing this baby. Leave an idea for the title in the comments and the best one wins something. Not sure what just yet, but something. And if I chose to use the actual title, well, we’ll be sure to credit you and give you a free book. Or a copy of all the eBooks. Or something. :-) But it’ll be a good something. Promise.

Thanks in advance. On your marks, get set, go!

Well, off the top of my head there’s “Seeing The Light” but i’m not entirely convinced it would completely describe the contents – would depend what they are.

If I was being really tricky then there’s “Insightful Vision” ( In sight, full vision) and after that, i’ll need to have a think

    Hey David,

I haven’t posted here in a while, but I couldn’t pass this one up. Even though I haven’t been vocal, I’ve still been reading. Other priorities have kept my camera out of my hands a little too long. But I’ve still found inspiration from your words. I think it goes unmentioned how applicable your advice and philosophy is to other creative fields. In web design I’ve constantly battling to strike a balance between artistic expression and a usable experience, between creative solutions and the constraints of code.

But back to the reason for this comment and the 100+ before it. What if you titled this next eBook: “Parascope: Sharpening Your Pixelated Vision”. Like a real life parascope, this blog helps it’s readers to zoom in on their vision, blocking out unnesscary distractions, truly helping them to see better. Plus, parascope’s just a neat, underused words. Oh, and you get those two favorite words of yours in there “pixelated” and “vision”.

Just my two cents. Looking forward to seeing what you pick. Looks like you’ll have a lot to work with.
