MentorProgram

mentor1

David duChemin makes himself available in a more intentional form to people who would benefit from a coaching or mentoring relationship, to discover their needs and create a process that mentors them from where they are to fulfillment of their goals.

Key Benefits:

  • Find your vision and learn to tell it with passion and clarity.
  • Make the transition from amateur to professional with a mentor.
  • Discover your brand and learn to communicate it.
  • Access to discounts on logo and materials design at discount.
  • Access to someone who has successfully walked this process before – weekly phone and email check-ins where possible. Because of David’s travel schedule this has to remain flexible. If you’re not good with change, this might frustrate you.
  • Ongoing portfolio critique – you submit 1 image weekly for critique.
  • Regular assignments – both photographic and business-related – and follow-up.
  • For clients not making the transition from amateur to professional the mentoring has many of the same benefits but focuses on the formation of personal vision and the technique and inspiration it takes to translate that vision through the camera.

The Process.

The process will differ from client to client because you will have different goals from others and will be starting the process to reach those goals from a place different than others. But in broad strokes:

EVALUATION AND GOAL SETTING
This is clarifying your vision and style, building a brand, building a portfolio.

At the end of the year you should have a fully ready, brand-strong presence ready to insert into your market of choice. You may also choose to set your insertion to market at the six-month mark and use this coaching through your first 6 months of business. Once established, this leads to:

ESTABLISHING A CRITICAL PATH
The year is broken down into steps through which smaller goals are reached in measurable/quanifiable steps, with the end result being the achievement of your primary goals at year-end. Once the critical path has been laid-out you begin to address issues of the craft.

CLARIFICATION OF VISION
Where is your passion and what’s your market? This is the beginning of clarity – both in terms of vision and in terms of what market you choose and how you choose to sell yourself to that market.

ONGOING CRITIQUE AND EVALUATION
Parallel to the development of your vision and market is the development of skills that are crucial to communicating that vision. How can you capture images that most powerfully communicate your vision, in your own style?

ONGOING ASSIGNMENTS
to (a) improve clarity of vision and focus, (b) clarify your preferred/ideal market and work towards branding clarity, (c) build portfolio.

CUSTOMIZATION
There will be clients that fall outside this process, people with different needs for whom we would create our own goals and custom-tailor the process. The basics remain the same and amount to an average of one hour a week of face-time, through Skype, telephone, or personal meetings, and ongoing access to David (an additional 2 emails/week.)
Possible add-ons to this process include coaching in post-process/workflow (Photoshop/Lightroom), and design/creation of your branding visuals – i.e, logo, business card, website, postcards. There would be an additional cost to these, but they would come at a discount.

PRICING

Pricing differs depending on the payment plan most convenient to you:

One-time payment of $3000.00
Two Payments of $1600.00
Four payments of $850.00
Monthly payments of $300.00
